Engineering Overview
Consistent, repeatable energy delivery by design
The WaveFront is specifically calibrated for the eye area. It operates at 670nm and 810nm, delivering red and near-infrared light through a purpose-built LED array of roughly 160 light emitting diodes. Measured output at the eye is approximately 4.5–5.5 mW/cm² at 670nm and 2.8–3.26 mW/cm² at 810nm.
Session Timing
Eyelids reduce the light reaching the eye by roughly 25–30% in the red spectrum and 15–20% in the near-infrared. To account for this, sessions are 16 minutes with eyes open or 21 minutes with eyes closed, using the built-in multi-timer. Either approach is a matter of personal comfort.
A Word About Generic Red Light Panels:
Most generic red light panels advise keeping the device away from the eyes — that guidance applies to unfocused, high-powered panels not engineered for eye area use. The WaveFront is purpose-built for the eye area.
